Kolcraft
Just an FYI mama's and papa's. Kolcraft is recalling more than 96,000 Jeep Liberty strollers due to a tire malfunction. The inner tube of the tire on the stroller can rupture causing the wheel rim to fracture and fly off as a projectile.

The strollers were recalled on June 19, 2013. The recall includes Jeep Liberty branded strollers with model numbers starting with JL031, JL032, JL034, JL035 or JL036 manufactured between June 2010 and September 2011.  The model number and date of manufacture are printed on a white tag on the rear upper center of each seat back pad.

Quite the History This is the second recall for Kolcraft this month. The first being the Contours Option stroller recalled due to fingertip amputation and laceration hazards.

Just this March, Kolcraft agreed to pay a
$400,000 civil penalty and to implement robust changes to it's internal control and compliance systems. This was in response to the CPSC recieving more than 350 reports of a defect in one of their play yards. The play yard collapsed and injured children from 2000-mid 2009.

All I have to say is "Get it together Kolcraft." The safety of the youngins should always be top priority.

Chrysler
It's just not a good week for Chrysler Jeep. Earlier in June the National Highway Traffic Administration formally requested that Chrysler recall up to 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokees and Jeep Liberty SUV's. At the time Chrysler refused to initiate the recall, however last week the auto maker initiated a safety recall of more than 1 million Jeep SUV's.

Chrysler disputed the governments findings, saying in a release that those vehicles met or exceeded the federal safety standards at the time of manufacture.

It looks like they decided it was cheaper to recall, than to run expensive ad campaigns to convince worried drivers.

Get it together Chrysler!

Stride Rite
About 7,500 of the "Joanna" girls sandals have been recalled due to a choking hazard. The name “Joanna,” the style number CG40723 (white shoe) or CG40725 (brown shoe) and the size are printed on the underside of the front shoe strap.  “StrideRite” appears on the bottom of the shoe.

The firm has received 6 reports of the flower detaching and 11 of the flower loosening.

I say good job on being reactive and getting the word out early Stride Rite.
