I do believe that it can be done and done effectively however, it all depends on the couple/people involved.

its possibly only if as a man you build the bridge first before furthering the relationship. if one tries to further the relationship before building the bridge with your significant other, when its time to finally do the introduction there is always a hoovering strange feeling that your spouse has...thinking, "how long have they known each other before introducing me?"
